| Asset Description | <br /><img src="https://arweave.net/dnAIUMljGSdudSshCN8i7w4fzl-MV3BT-1Oce5tdEVI/4u7hfx_image.png" class="img-responsive" /><br /> <div><p>3I/ATLAS, also known as C/2025 N1 (ATLAS), is an active interstellar comet originating from outside our solar system, making it the third such object ever discovered. Discovered by the ATLAS survey, it consists of an icy nucleus surrounded by a coma of gas and dust, and is traveling through our system at approximately 130,000 miles per hour. It will reach its closest approach to the Sun (perihelion) around October 30, 2025, at about 1.4 AU, before exiting back into interstellar space. Observations have noted a growing tail and unusual green coloration, though its exact nature continues to be studied. </p></div> |
